Hi all,
I just got a good looking T3200SX, however it was very dead. Not a single sign of life when plugging it in.
I opened the machine today, and took out the PSU. Opening it, there is no leaking caps or anything, no corrosion or anything. Checked the little fuse next to power switch, it was ok.
Is there anything on the T3200SX that prevents a startup of the PSU? Some other switch that has to be made somewhere, for it to get going?
I saw a post on Reddit where another dead PSU was traced to a Triac... Is there any other usual suspects on this board, or should I start looking into a recap? As mentioned, the caps don't even look swollen.
The machine has original Conner HD, as well as the original black, boxy BIOS battery that hasn't leaked.
When PSU is connected to 220V AC, is it possible to trace the voltages without the plasmadisplay being connected? Or does voltages drop if nothing is connected to it?
Thankful for any advice into this troubleshooting.
Tom

Working on T1000LE, T1100Plus, T3200, T3200SX, T4500C all of them have some issues 😀

Post a picture or two of the power supply, and we might be able to tell.

Generally, most PSUs either have a "main" supply and a "standby" supply (e.g. ATX PSUs), or they have one "always-On" supply and that's it (e.g. laptop power adapters, some smaller LCD monitors, and etc.) The latter are always On, with or without a load.
