I don't know if it is coinsidental, but after replacing a isa card on my system with a pci one, every time I start up windows the process stucks on windows 98 screen. The same on the first appearance of gui in win 98 install.I got fatal disk error.

Any ideas?

Try to start with boot menu. On startup press (F8) key and wait for boot menu. Few options are available. Chose registered mode startup.
And record every log from startup. Something going wrong with options or drivers not installed correctly. System hangs up but it is not fatal disk error.

A tried also to make a fresh install of win98 fe but it also hungs up after "copying nessesary files for installation".Again that fake disk error.

With nextstep 3.3 for intel ,booting with -v parameter ,the system starts with default vga,but not with normal boot. With normal boot, just a black screen

I tried different pci slots. My mobo is a pentium mmx with 32mb ram.

Is it possible to be an option in bios?
