Just recently I got an AT computer with a DFI K6BV3+/66 (has a VIA VT82C598 chipset) but when I install Windows 95, it works fine except the AGP controller doesn't want to work due to some weird conflict.

It's very strange considering the other cards (PCI and ISA) seem to work. On the other hand I tried to install WIndows 98SE after giving up on fixing the AGP problem in hopes to get working AGP but I am met with this error while it tried to install Plug and Play devices.

I don't really get what's going on with this board if I'm being honest, any help will be appreciated.

The shared AGP memory range is expected. What version of the VIA 4in1 Drivers are you using? I think there's better luck with the older versions on the S7 platform. (URL - https://download.viatech.com/en/support/driversSelect.jsp)

Really not sure about the W98SE setup error, sorry.

I was trying the 4.43V chipset drivers to no success. However last night, I somehow got Windows Me working with no issues. What I'm guessing is that 98SE may have a possibly buggy driver if present. I'll likely revisit Windows 95 again sometime tonight, will provide an update.

I would've just stayed with Windows Me but I save that for Pentium II or III machines. (mostly Pentium III)

Oh, and I recall having to downclock the processor to get Windows 95 working otherwise, I would get protection errors. But I believe I got a CD-R with patcher9x to try out in case.

For WIn98SE and below you should use VIA 4.17 drivers

PC#1: K6-III+ 400 | 512MB | Geforce4 | Voodoo1 | SB Live | AWE64 | GUS PNP Pro
PC#2: 486DX2-66 | 64MB | Riva128 | AWE64 | GUS PNP | PAS16
PC#3: 386DX-40 | 32MB | CL-GD5434 | SB Pro | GUS MAX | PAS16
