Hi,

I installed From Dusk till Dawn from my old disc without any problems. However, when I try to run the game using dgvoodoo2, I get a white screen and then the game crashes back to desktop. It used to work on my Windows 10 laptop, but doesn't now on my new Windows 11 machine. I'm not really such an expert. Does anyone know what I can do? Apparently, as far as I googled this issue happens with quite a few 3D games under Windows 11, including "The Devil Inside" that seemingly (I don't have it) runs under Windows 10 with dgvoodoo and uses the same engine as "From Dusk till Dawn". Any help would be appreciated 😀

I just tested the 1.0 game. With the necessary no-CD the game runs when coupled with dgVoodoo2 or DDrawCompat or DxWnd.

That's really weird, I tried again. With me, it shows a white screen, then disappears again immediately... Can you tell me what settings you used? And you did use Windows 11?

Settings? Just the default one, nothing special. Maybe you can turn on the DDrawCompat debug mode, or the same for dgVoodoo2 or the same for DxWnd and check

I tried it with DDraw Compat. Same result, short white screen, crash. Here's the log file. Would you be so kind as to take a look at it? Because I'm really no good at this. I don't understand it enough 🙁

This is the release log, doesnt tell much. Download the "debug" release from github. Also its better to report on their issues place

Here's what the debug log tells me, but I don't really understand it either...

Environment variable __COMPAT_LAYER = "RunAsAdmin 640X480 Win95"

Disable Win95 compat mode. It is no longer "safe" for running programs on Win11. Also 640x480 shouldn't be required as the menu is in the desktop resolution

Sorry, I should have mentioned that. I tried it with and without compatibility settings (for Win95, 98 and XP) and with and without the 640x480 resolution. Same result. What GPU are you using? Mine is a RTX 4090. Maybe Nvidia is the issue here- you said it works for you on Windows 11, so it is obviously not a Windows version issue.

GTX 1050Ti, unlikely a Nvidia issue imo. I think you should consider reporting the issue to Narzoul or gho directly on the DDrawCompat forums or DxWnd forums.
Also never put Windows 95 or 98 modes on Windows 11 atleast, it does more harm than good.

DxWnd can expose more, but you will probably be benefitted more if you report here: https://sourceforge.net/p/dxwnd/discussion/ge … ead/920a5bf89c/

Yes, I did and I applied the patch. I'm honestly a bit at loss here 😒

I suppose it's possible that Nvidia has broken something on the newest generation cards. BEEN and I both have older 1000 series cards.

Someone else with a 4000 could try and confirm.
