I have serious problem. asus P2B-VE motherboard ( hp oem ) always display conflict in win98 with agp videocard. With any agp card. geforce 4 mx 440, geforce 4 mx 440se, geforce 4 mx 420, geforce 2 mx 400.

Your display adapter conflicts with another device in your computer. To correct this problem click OK to view the properties for this device

This device cannot find any free Input/Output Range (I/O) resources to use (Code 12).
If you want to use this device you must disable another device that is using the resource this device needs. To do this, click HARDWARE TROUBLESHOOTER and follow the instructions in the wizard.

This board is 3.3v only for agp so no tnt2 card work and no radeon and no ati rage 128 work. they dont even boot up. i heard the long beep 2 or 3 fast beep.

The board has a integrated ati rage pro THAT I THINK CAN BE DISABLED. no jumper anywhere. no option in bios. i have the last bios 1.14. Maybe i could use a modded bios if you know of one that can work.

The pc build is slot 1 Pentium III 450mhz.
128mb sd ram 100mhz
40gb hdd
i didnt installed any sound card yet.

I tried several things to get it working no luck yet.
disable floppy, serial port... everything.

i even try using a pci tnt2 in it and win98 installed the tnt2 and the ati rage pro at the same. no conflict but d3d hardware not available for any card.

when i installed a geforce agp videocard, only that card show in device manager with a yellow !

I think this board is somewhat incompatible with all agp videocard. i dont get it.
some people with similar era motherboard seems to have this problem and find no solution.

Before you ask, i installed intel chipset driver when i saw this problem, but itnchanged nothing.

I forgot to say, when a agp geforce vudeocard is installed in the motherboard, sometime, not very often, the pc boot with the long beep and 2 fast beep. i have to disconnect the power and try again. it do this with all my agp geforce card. but it wont do it often.

integrated ati rage pro works properly when alone

Thanks a lot for help.

Cool 😀 I have one of these boards in storage and haven't done much to test it, so knowing that the onboard video conflicts with an AGP card confirms that it is definitely using the AGP bus and you've confirmed it can be disabled.
Great that you've got it working properly, I think it's a pretty nice board

BTW I think that a TNT2 should work on the board now that the onboard one is disabled. AGP 2x boards aren't that limited normally.

It shouldn't be necessary to disable onboard video to get an AGP card to work. PCI and AGP VGA can coexist happily, in fact normally you can select in BIOS which should be primary. Of course, no reason to leave the onboard VGA on if you're not using it, but I suspect this was more a software issue than anything else.

As for TNT2 - 3.3V should be no problem, it can work at either AGP 1.0 (3.3V) or AGP 2.0 (1.5V), same as the GeForce2MX you have working there. So if it doesn't work, it's not the voltage.
