Hi. The title says it all. I`m kind a worried if i decide to pull the trigger will this motherboard not cause me any issues in terms of compatibility?

I was googling and could not find any direct answer except on this website that is saying its support Tualatin cpu`s in chips list , but knowhere is mentioned S series that i have opportunity to purchase.

https://theretroweb.com/motherboards/s/dfi-ca64-tc

Pentium III (Coppermine)
Pentium III (Tualatin)
Celeron (Coppermine-128)
Pentium III (Coppermine-T)
Celeron (Tualatin-256)

I just want to be double sure it will work before i purchase it.
Kind regards,
Dado.

I believe so. The only difference of an "s" is the cache size as far as I know. If the board supports tualatin it should just work.

Depends on the CA64-TC/TN board version, is it A or Ba0? Version Ba0 support Pentium III (FCPGA2- 133MHz FSB), version A does not.According to TRW : FCPGA2 133MHz FSB (1.13GHz-1.26GHz)
And : According to June 2004 and Sept. 2006 at DFI it says https://web.archive.org/web/20040603134523/ht … ULstSock370.htm
and https://web.archive.org/web/20060901045659/ht … ULstSock370.htm says same thing.
So no on the 1.4Ghz 133 bus official support, highest supported is 1.26Ghz on 133Mhz bus from the chart. Now they may have added something to the 2003 bios but would think it would be in that chart...
There is another topic that goes over 1.4Ghz Tualatin board support and the DFI was not mentioned iirc

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

Mine is revision C model motherboard, last one. I believe that last support is written before 1.4ghz was released on the market. Its hard to really know unless someone on this forum had this motherboard model and tested it i guess.

More infos on the topic. Revision C support latest Bios update.

https://www.dfi-itox.com/pages/support/mbd/showca64tc.htm

Oficial support up to 1.3ghz Taulatin, but nowhere 1.4 mention on this as well.
https://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-DFI/CA64-TN.html

Latest Bios revision do no mention any info about anythin then it supports lock feature.
https://drivers.eu/Mainboards/DFI/CA64-TN

Ive found this tabel which indeed says it supports higher rates of CPUs, i just need to change dipswitches to support 1.4ghz value, so it seems it will work. 😀

Would assume that if B1 - April Fools Build ( Spring Forward ) 1.4ghz. Boost. ...

...and C - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWa1dBM8HPM...

...are OK with 1.4 chips in the above, you should be good to go.
