Hi everyone, I would like to know if anyone knows where to find the CGA version of this title, since all the sources consulted have it on EGA. I remember playing the CGA version on my old PC as a child and I think it is important for preservation purposes 😀

Thanks in advance!

We don't support so called "abandonware" here so places to find are people or places that sell or give away their purchased copy for free assuming that the software isn't free for download.

This a common problem with old pirate releases of games. To save floppy disk space the rippers would remove all but one video mode. Typically CGA/Hercules gets left out, since by the late 80s/early 90s nobody was using those for gaming anymore.

Is this too much voodoo?

Ok, I understand. I've seen users on here before linking to sites with a specific version of a game.

But I understand. I just wanted to at least know if anyone has managed to preserve the CGA version of this game. Thanks

Yes, you are right, I have been seeing what you are saying for a while, that is why I often look for .ima dumps of the original diskettes.

A similar issue is retail releases of games that had broken Hercules implementations. Golden Axe and Out Run were like this. You had to hack the game files to enable it. (Presumably the devs just couldn't be bothered to test it before shipping, since so few people were using it by then.)

(Also, it's similar to how some late ZX Spectrum games had broken Kempston joystick implementations, because by then nobody was using Kempston anymore. Bedlam, Rick Dangerous and Raster Runner were like this.)
