Am I totally wrong if I think the SE version of the first Need for speed game could have a 3dfx patch? I'm 99% sure I played it back in the day, when I got my first Voodoo card?

Pretty sure the executable was nfssea.exe (just like nfs2sea for Need for speed 2 SE)

Anyone? I can't seem to find anything.

If it's dual it's kind of cool ... 😎

Dos was strictly software mode (in both the original and SE)
SE also included a Windows version that used Direct X
But neither had Voodoo support.

Maybe you're thinking of having to run things like univibe for VESA compatibility?

I'm pretty sure it wasn't a univbe thing, as I ran it on an ISA/PCI only socket 7 system.

I just recall it as being totally surprised that the game supported 3dfx without anything else but starting the right .exe 🤣 but yeah, evidence on Google suggests that I might remember wrong, which I really can't understand, as it's only 25'ish years ago 🤷‍♂️

If it's dual it's kind of cool ... 😎

It was need for speed 2 se that supported 3dfx
