For example, I have a CT3930 which is a SB32 but it's also a Vibra and is non-PnP which doesn't seem to match with any of the driver distributions out there. So I've always been curious about what set of drivers came bundled with that card.

It would be an extremely helpful cross reference, if it exists. If not, maybe Vogons users could assemble it.

Too bad they do not list the cd part number in the manual or on a sticker on the back of manual.
added: I do remember the floppy set was odd with a Vibra16 disk plus others including some with SB32/AWE32 on the label....

I wonder if a simple Python script could scrape INF files for device IDs, and look at that against a PCI ID database, like from https://pci-ids.ucw.cz/ and come up with a list of Device names by CD. Hmmm not enough hours in the day...

It would need isapnp-ids, not pciids.

Even then, pre pnp would have no identifier at all, other than card markings.

Most of the driver confusion surrounds the PCI cards, like all the Live variants that require different drivers.

Have a SB0100 Live! 5.1 that came with a w9x CD plus 2 cd's for my Live! Value CT4760 and 2 CD's for another Live! card. Will try and get the ID numbers off them and post here.

Will do some deeper digging......EDIT: fixed some stuff.
added: So maybe better to make a PCI ID for each card first and then create list of those and add what CD supports them ?

Yes I think that's the way forward. I've been looking at a few PCI ID database sites for Creative cards. I think I'm going to write a Python script that scans the CDs, then correlates Disk ID to PCI IDs. And possibly PnP IDs for ISA stuff.

Here is what I got from my five SB Live CD's, attached as text with CD# and disk ID, Card name and PCI ID. Have not done anything with the other Creative cd's yet....
Am playing with Excel to see how easy to add them...might be a long project 🤣

Is there a rhyme or reason for how to figure out the CTxxxx or SB0xxx number from these Disk IDs that I'm missing?

I've added these as comments for most Creative SB16, Live and Audigy CDs last year. There's no correlation you should rely on. You might rely on the "version" number part to differentiate between various releases from the same series, but using the file modification date of the file would be more precise. Use these ids just to identify a particular CD, so you don't download the same one for the second time or if you have a damaged iso.
