Uses the 3DLabs Permedia 2 chip. Not great. Should produce nice quality output but will be slow and/or not support all APIs.

i had one of these back in early/mid 1999, really wanted a voodoo 2 or a new voodoo3, managed to convince my dad to get a graphics card, i was disappointed it wasnt a voodoo, and was triggered when he bought a 4mb gpu as an upgrade to the onboard 4mb we already had, though the guy at the computer shop said it would be an improvement, we had an amd K6, turns out these cards need a fairly decent cpu and are not good for pairing with a K6,

also by this point the card was pretty much 2 years old which wasnt great considering how quickly gpus were progressing back then, anyway it did its job, i used it for playing heretic, doom, duke nukem 3d, jet fighter II, links golf, normality, flight unlimited, C&C, red alert, dune 2000, tiberian sun, thief, grim fandango, flight simulator 98, gta/london, WH40K chaos gate, Redline Gang Warfare: 2066, and a gameboy emulator for playing pokemon red.🤣, so not very demanding games. it handled these games just fine, i would get another one but only to re-live the past, though given a choice, today there are much better options.

heres some info.

Straight from Creative:
"Graphics Blaster Exxtreme
GBEX-95BIO-1-US (Revision 5)
Win9x driver and BIOS Update

Description:
This is the latest driver package (revision 5) for
the Graphics Blaster Exxtreme. "

"Graphics Blaster Readme
==========================
This file contains the following sections:

1. Release notes
2a. Installing the latest set of Graphics Blaster Exxtreme drivers
in Windows 95
2b. Installing the latest set of Graphics Blaster Exxtreme drivers
in Windows 98
3. Games Compatibility Issue
4. Known Problems
5. General Notes
6. BIOS upgrade utility"

Note attached is driver version 1.13 per .inf. If attached does not work you could try this: http://www.vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?file … 706&menustate=0
CD is Win95/NT driver version 1.05 per .inf

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun
