Recently i bought an old Tulip NB386sx laptop from my local second handstore.
After starting up it gives me a cmos checksum error, i changed the 4 NiCad batteries for 3 alkaline aa's. (4.8v -> ~4.9v) and it still gives me the same error. So i checked if there even was continuity between the +4,8v header to one of the bios pins. There was no connection at all.
After checking the connection i took the (i think, documentation is scarce) psu board off of the main board and saw some bridges that had been made.
The bridge was between the header connection to a single relay.
Can anybody help me identify what this does? Is it safe to cut the the bridge so i can restore normal cmos operation?
Thx in advance
P.s. if better pictures are needed let me know, this is my first time posting on here
