I found a Pentium/MMX-233MHz on eBay. It might sounds ridonculus put it in this motherboard because of another vogons post by Parni. It is probably too quick and new to put in this motherboard, but that still leaves the question, Can I put a Pentium MMX into a HOT-419?

PS, it might break the motherboard if I do this.

PPS, when I mean "too new and quick" the timeline is like only less than 2 year. It so cool to see tech improving so quickly!

Having a look at the Retro Web's entry on this motherboard, it is a 486 board so no Socket 7 CPU will work on this board. But there are a wide array of 486 CPUs that will work.

After watching many YouTube videos about older computer hardware, YouTube began recommending videos about trains - are they trying to tell me something?

Lookin' at you, Pentium Overdrive

Well, If I did want to go to 233MHz. I could use a Am5x86-P100 at 160MHz, But there's a problem. The Shuttle HOT-419 motherboard can only go up to 200MHz; with 50(max) bus speed x 4 multiplier; it just simply won't run at 60MHz bus speed. any suggestions? for example a ISA-8/16 bit and w/ or w/o VESA expansion card, or modifying the motherboard.

And also. thank you Repo Man11 for the suggestion for 486 processors. I chose the Am5x86 as its basis is the 486 and, it has the fastest based 486 ever at 160MHz (not over clocked) which is the Am5x86-P100.

I do not know what processor you mean with an Am5x86-P100.
At 160 MHz (40x4) it is called Am5x86-P90
At 150 MHz (50x3) it is called Am5x86-P75+
At 133 MHz (33x4) it is called Am5x86-P75
Because it so ultra ultra rare to find one of the first 2 processors we try to overclock the 133 MHz ones. For most of them 160 MHz should not be a problem for daily use when you figured out how to deal with the 40 MHz FSB. 180 (60x3) is tricky and 200 (66x3) will seldom POST at all.
However, clock rates above 160 MHz are not for daily use and it is most likely you'll be disappointed after reaching this goal in a benchmark. And you won't risk to fry your processor, do you?
