I have searched these lands far and wide for the titular beige case, and the best match I've found to date is the Evercase/Kate & McKenzie KM2009. It's very nice but shipping to USA is expensive (~$60).
What would you recommend instead?

Be aware that with that KM2009 you'd also need to find half-height peripherals, it's not a regular height desktop case.

Sadly Micro ATX desktop cases with full height cards went extinct a long time ago. You can find them in some OEM machines like the NEC powermate, I got a Time customised version of the Inwin D500 case through a lot of searching around on ebay.
Alternatively, look for regular Micro ATX cases that you could customise to work well as a desktop 😀

But I'm not aware of any off the shelf ... except this one: https://www.checkmate1500plus.com/IntroductionPC.aspx
Even that has the requirement of a riser for full height cards though.

Kate and Mackensie also do the CS101:

But you would have the same issue with postage. They are nicely made and accept full size cards. The downside is it requires as SFX PSU, which can be expensive.

The case can be used horizontally or vertically. The rubber feet are not attached when shipped, and you can stick them in either orientation. I have several in the bottom of my retro PC cupboard:

Personally though if I were you, I'd just set up some saved searches on ebay and wait. I expect a suitable case will pop up eventually. Anything with "beige" or "retro" in the title will probably go for more money. But sometimes people don't know what they have and just list it "pc case" or "old computer case"

Yes, I knew the KM2009 only fits low-profile cards... I intend to use this sort of case for yet another sleeper PC build. As such I won't need many expansion cards, at most a Wi-Fi card and GPU. A proper graphics card may not even be required if integrated graphics are good enough, since this machine is NOT going to be used for gaming. Just Audacity, GIMP, web browsing, e-mail, YouTube, etc. on Debian with xfce desktop enviroment. If I really need to play some Steam games I'll just stick a GPU in there.

I saw the CS101, I don't like the laminated look of beige + transparent plastic on top. I'm telling you, KM2009 or InWin D500 is the way to go... Too bad they don't ship the KM2009 with a 120v PSU...
But saving eBay searches is a good idea. I'll search around. If nothing turns up I'll just have to get the KM2009 before tariffs make everything worse.

Yes, the look isn't for everyone. You can easily remove the plastic though. Just 4 screws and it will look like this:
