I know it's probably been covered a number of times on Vogons, but I thought since my IBM XT finally went pop (spoiler: turned out to be 12V tantalums).

But I thought I'd make a video of exactly how I tested the fault, diagnosing the issue with a multimeter first, then replacing the faulty parts and testing.

Hopefully this fully documented process is of help to complete newbs when it comes to repairing vintage kit. I'm certainly no digital electronics expert, so this was partly learning process for me, partly knowledge from the dark recesses of my mind.
