Okay, bummer. I'll give it a try with slowdown or throttle for cpu reducing

Tried out Myslow.exe and reduced my Pentium 166mhz by 50% and everything works all smooth now. MT32 with talkie version. Looking forward to a rainy summer day now
Is MySlow the only solution for this? I have used CPUSPD to slow the game down to the correct speed, but still got the hanging note bug with the SC-55. Pretty sure I selected option 5 or 6.
OS: Windows 98 SE
CPU: Pentium III Katmai 450MHz (SL35D)/Pentium III Coppermine 933MHz (SL448)
RAM: SK Hynix 128MB 100MHz/Kingston 256MB 133MHz
GPU: Nvidia 16MB Riva TNT/Geforce 128MB 4 MX 440
Motherboard: MSI-6156/Abit BE6-II
I'm using ALI5THT.EXE to slow down my PC. So, other tools should work as well. Depends on chipset I assume.
Couple ideas from my experience with Sam & Max:
- even with slow CPU, the hanging note still happens when not using an intelligent MPU-401 (I'm not able to reproduce with MPU401AT and PCMIDI driving the SC-55)
- it seems to happen more often with the CD talkie version + MIDI GM - the floppy version with GM is fine (different GM drivers)
- it only happens with GM driver (haven't been able to reproduce with MT32 driver)
- it seems to mostly happen in the intro: if we skip it at the "Friends" line, the rest of the game seems to sound fine
Hope this helps.
