It seems odd to intall 1024MB ram on a 586 board, even board with MVP3 and ALI V from that time can't do that at all.

but.............

The most capable socket 7 board ever is BIOSTAR M5ATA from my first PC 1998.

The S3 GPU with the M5ATA is also a BIOSTAR.

How about install a K6-III 450 and overclock to 500MHz? No problem at all!!!!!!!!!!!

My first PC (1997)
IBM 6x86mx PR200
BIOSTAR M5ATA
16MB SDRAM

Now upgraded to Cyrix MII 291.5MHz (maybe PR400)

Have you verified by filling it up? A few instances of super pi usually does the trick.

Sometimes it will look like it is working, even pass mem test, but actually be wrong.

Most high end 586 max out at 768 but I have heard of the occasional 1.5gb unicorn.

Usually so much ram ends up actually slowing the system down but it’s nice to say you shoehorned it in there! 😀
