i just got this board for a few bucks on marketplace
im having issues with the usb2.0 controller. it says its SiS 7001 USB controller...
but efverytime the usb controller gets probed it freezes the whole system.. so i cant even do anything..
anyone else experience this? do i have to just disable it? or is there a fix?

i bought this board thinking it was a msi ms-6368 but realized when trying to install drivers
that the board is different from the driver cd that i was given

so its probably that im using not the exact right drivers or something

i thought it was an 133 APOLLO VIA board i was buying..
im confused 😖

The SiS 630E doesn't support USB 2.0, it has just USB 1.1 support. If I remember correctly there never was a USB 1.x driver by SiS!?

I had a look right now and it seems SiS took their old drivers offline!? The latest most important drivers for SiS chipsets are available from my website's drivers page -> https://soggi.org/drivers/drivers.htm.

I don't know how your board looks like and therefor can't compare it.

BTW there seems to be no BIOS update for this board, at least not from Future Power (if it's an OEM board for multiple customers).

kind regards

i had to bypas the built in usb and use a VIA usb2.0 pci addon card
this system is now rockin a 9250 radeon pci along with the usb card and 512mb ram
along with a GINA 20bit interface with 8 1/4" outputs a good pci gpu definately neccessary with this board

what happened was i thought i was buying an msi board becasue it came in the box of another board.
confused the hell out of me 😉
