Dear Great Vogons, please help.

I just bricked BIOS in my 8bit ISA Trident card. http://mally.tim.com.pl/8bit_isa/VGA_SV ... 0CS(!).jpg

IC is standard 27c256, all i can find is 2x 128kb for ISA 16bit ISA (and i don't know how combine them and will it work.)

Does Any of you have BIOS for this card?

Please help!

You can try the bios files from vgamuseum.info
https://www.vgamuseum.info/index.php/componen … dent-tvga8800cs

they are padded to fit in a 512kb rom, here's the 256kb version:

The attachment tvga8800cs.rar is no longer available

Thank You very much.
But will it work on 8Bit ISA card?

Basically the bios wil communicate with the system Board and graphical processor without looking at the 16 bit part. Even moest 16 bit cards wil work without Jake in any 8 bit slot. So I don't think it will be a problem at all.

Stuck at 10MHz...

Not quite, but these may be helpful:

Can't get it to work with my "Hercules" (I believe it's actually dual-sync, 15 and 18 kHz) monitor, either.

Normal VGA operation is:
all DIP switches ON
JP2 2-3

First, I toggled DIP switches 1 and 2.
Second, I toggled JP2 to 1-2.

In both cases, the same result: right after power-on/reset I can see the BIOS screen, but it's distorted (wrong frequencies?), and a moment later it goes all black.

BTW: do you, by any chance, have the software for that card - or for any 8800-series card?

I'm especially interested in the SVM.EXE utility - described in that PDF manual.
It's easily found for 8900 and 9000 chips, but can't find any version compatible with 8800...

Hi everyone!

I had uploaded mine for a Brazilian clone version of the TVGA 8800CS here:

https://datassette.org/softwares/br-brasil-fi … cgv-tvga-8800cs

This version, signed by MICROTEC has a different character set, with a sans-serif font. I personally like it a lot. It is dated as of 02/06/89, v 1.0, model CGV - V.

On the other hand, I'm looking for an updated version for the BIOS of this board (higher than the 1.2, btw). There is a VESA driver for it that "updates" it, but I'd like to have it on the eproms directly.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

RC

I've never seen an 8800 card with VBE in ROM.
Most likely there's no such a thing - those cards are from the 80s, when VBE wasn't a thing yet.
