Hello everyone,

I've got this Creative graphic card since I was a little Pentium enjoyer, and it's still working today - matter of fact I'm using it in one of my setups with Win98.
Many years ago, I can't even recall when exactly, it started making artifacts (wrong colours) at DOS resolution, which my Philips monitor identifies as 720x400@70Hz. Basically it behaves weird just at this resolution, so in my setup 3D works fine, 2D works fine, Win98 works fine, but win98 startup and closing logos are displayed wrong, and as well DOS mode is barely visible.
The card came with no fan, and it sports a fan after the incident happened, and more recently I've also added memory heatsinks.
Past year I've tried to bake it in the oven, but no luck.

The card is exactly the same as at [0]. Honestly I'm not expecting to find solutions to the problem, but rather collecting similar experiences for the same card. On this setup I don't play DOS games anyway. I will soon add photos.

See attached pics. Specifically, when in DOS full screen mode, I've had to full out monitor's brightness and contrast to let the text be slightly seen. On the other hand, everything is displayed correctly. Windows is running 1024x768 32bit 75Hz, and both 2D or 3D games run just fine.

p.s. I've just noted though that Microsoft Scandisk in DOS mode does not create any artifacts, even though my monitor (Philips Brilliance 107P4) shows the same resolution - still 720x400@70Hz.

Eureka! While tweaking bios settings I found that by disabling the option "PCI/VGA Palette Snoop" the card stopped showing artifacts!
