Hey so I recently managed to get a DEC LA50 printer and I've had issues getting it to work with my Windows 98SE machine.

From what I can gather it is a serial port printer and thus I've tried to attach a 25-pin printer cable to a RS232 adapter and plug it into COM3 on my PC,
however when I tried printing with the Generic text driver, nothing happened. I've tried different configurations with different baud rates, using XON/XOFF instead and sending text directly to the printer via Hyperterminal but it seems nothing is getting through to that printer with sadly no error message to guide me.

The printer did pass self-test and no fault lights are present.

Any advice on what to do next is greatly appreciated :)
