Hi all,

Recently I purchased a lovely old Packard Bell case I'd like to use for my Win 98 rig. However, I'd like to change the motherboard that's inside. I have a replacement, but I ran into a problem with the connectors for the power switch. The Packard Bell Case has them bundled together and they fit exactly on the motherboard that was in the case. The bundled cables don't fit on the motherboard I have, so there is no way to power the PC on with the power switch...

Any ideas how to fix this?

Use jump wires and heat-shrink tube.

The pins can be popped out with a needle and some patience.

Then you rearrange them, or find alternative plastic housings

I built:

^This.
Extract the pins and re-arrange in the original connector... or just extract the plastic housings from the wires of the front panel header from another case (could just buy that on eBay too.)
Definitely the easiest method, IMO.
