I'd like to get a clock chip on my Tandy 1000 RL HD. Having to enter past the date/time fields every boot up is slightly annoying.

When I read the "1000's Tech Notes & Jumper Manual Volume 1" it says:

But when I look at my motherboard, which is revision C it looks like this:

There's a 28 pin socket there and a footprint for a coin cell battery holder.

When I look at ancientelectronic's website I see this picture of his RL HD motherboard, which is also revision C

On his site he says "The regular 1000RL has a socket for an added real time clock but the RL-HD has one built into the motherboard using an easy to replace lithium coin battery."

I could understand if a different revision didn't have the onboard clock chip but we both have rev C. Strange.

What are my options now? When I google it, it seems there was a modern replacement "smartwatch" chip made by users but it was only for the 1000 EX. That one is a board with another socket on top for the system BIOS chip to go onto.
