i got an ibm vga card(with the 72x8287 chip), seems to be in good condition. when i plugged it into my umc8881 486 board with award bios and powered it on, it makes several long beeps and the screen remains dark.
after several long beeps for more than 10 seconds, just when i was upset and seeking what to do, it suddenly makes a short beep and starts posting.
i tested doom, quake and a few other games and its now working fine, just that every time powering up is not that plesant.
