another idea occured to me, I could replace the K6-2 with my Pentium Classic 166
My friend has this same board and I want to try this as well. But wherever I look, I can´t find confirmation that the Socket of this Mobo will work with Pentiums.
Here https://theretroweb.com/motherboards/s/acer-v75m#docs you can see that the manual mentions "AMD K6-2, S Sharptooth, and Cyrix M2 family processors, with supporting CPU clock up to 450MHz", but also later it says that "The Processor parameter specifies the type of processor currently installed in your system. The system supports Pentium II or Celeron processors" which makes no sense since the socket of this Mobo would not accept those CPUs. Also in the Jumper Settings http://www.uktsupport.co.uk/acer/mb/v75m.htm there are only options for M2 (Cyrix) and K6 (AMD) CPU Types with no mention of Intel.
I wonder if the lack of options for Pentium was based on the fact that maybe these models of IBM Aptivas that came with this Mobo only came with Cyrix or AMD processors, but since the Mobo seems to be Super Socket 7, then it seems that it could play well with a Pentium MMX 166MHz CPU if you get the jumpers configuration right. For example: Bus Clock Ratio at 2.5, CPU Core Voltage at 2.8 and Frequency at 66.6 MHz.
