I have purchased this ASUS SP97-V motherboard without the BIOS chip a few years back so I want to know which chip should I use to flash the BIOS firmware. The file on the Retroweb is a 128k firmware so I'm guessing a 128k chip?

Of course, just pick some 128k EEPROM. There could be a compatibility issue with built in RAM for holding ESCD settings but most chips should be ok.
Congrats on your purchase. It’s one of the fastest boards out there. I’m even running a K6-2 500 on mine with a secret jumper settings. Necroware has a good video on this board https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zaOXLErWcPc

Thanks! I’m looking at AT29C010A or AT28C010 right now. They’re both supported with my XGECU programmer.

Yes indeed! It’s easy to configure and it’s PS/2 and USB support too.
