So, i've tried figuring this problem out for a few hours now.
I have a IDE-to-SD adapter with a 64gb SD-card. Yesterday I tried installing WinXP on it and got the error "0x0000007b" after the files had been copied over to the SD card for installation.

I read somewhere that you will need to either change the setting in BIOS from AHCI to IDE (or something like that), which my BIOS doen't have an option for. Really can't find it anywhere.
Or second option is to F6 at the beginning of the WinXP installation, insert a floppy with the AHCI drivers and load them before installing. Problem is that I have no idea of what drivers I need for my setup. Is it related to the motherboard or IDE-to-SD adapter? There seem to be sooo many different drivers out there for this specific problem. How can I find the one that works for me?

Motherboard: MSI MS-6309
CPU: Intel P3 800Mhz
Storage: IDE-to-SD adapter with a 64gb microSD card.

While I do not know what the specific windows problem is, I can contribute that that system does not have ahci.

It sounds like you are running an sd to ide adapter. The normal ide drivers should work.

All I can think of is to check that the thing gets enough power, sometimes they pretend to work when they are able to draw enough over the bus to wake up, but as soon as writing starts, they dip.

Copied over for installation = what exactly?
Are you installing it from a dos environment?
It happens during the text based setup?

I am pretty sure there is no AHCI for the kt133

I built:
Convert old ASUS ASC boardviews to KICAD PCB!
Re: A comprehensive guide to install and play MechWarrior 2 on new versions on Windows.
Dos+Windows 3.11+tcp+vbe_svga auto-install iso template
Script to backup Win9x\ME drivers from a working install
Re: The thing no one asked for: KICAD 440bx reference schematic

Thanks for responding. The adapter is fine. I have installed Win98 on it previously on the same PC without issues.

Sorry, maybe i wasn't specific enough.
The Sd card is split up into two partitions, where one partition is for storing all the backup stuff, like ghost images drivers etc. Also, i extracted the contents of the WinXP SP3 iso file onto this partition so that i could install it without a CD.

The other partition, C:, is formatted and clean with nothing on it.
So i use a Win98 bootdisk to boot into dos when the pc starts up, access the WinXP folder and install from there. The installer first copies it's installation files onto C: and when that finishes and the "real" installation begins, thats when i get this error. You have to press F6 at the start of the installation and select AHCI drivers to install before WinXP can start it's installation. But i can't find any drivers that work from the ones i've found.

So yes, you are running the text portion of the setup.
I'm pretty sure it shouldn't need drivers, but maybe look for a slipstreamed sp3 iso.
Sp3 should be well after the kt133.
