All tests have been completed on the following boards with the following chipsets:
1.Abit KT7-raid - VIA KT133
2. Abit KT7A-raid - VIA KT133A
3. Abit KG7-raid - AMD760
4. Abit KR7A-raid - VIA KT266A
5. Abit AT7-max - VIA KT333
6. Abit AT7-max 2 - VIA KT400
7. Abit KV7 - VIA KT600
8. Abit NV7-133raid - nforce1
9. Abit AN7 - nforce2 ultra.

In order to keep the topic clean, easy to watch and for everyone to compare easily with the results obtained with the 1200C I choose to put up the screenshots with 3 systems:
KT133A - representing the SDRAM option; maybe this time it can put up a stronger fight!
KT266A - the best chipset supporting DDRAM and a 266 MHz FSB
nforce2 ultra - the undisputed champion of every single battle until now.

First system is the nforce2 ultra represented by Abit AN7 - the best socket 462 motherboard! Waiting for DFI lanparty nf2 ultra b owners to come forward 😀
The board does accept the 1200B only after BIOS reset and manually selecting the multiplier and the FSB in the BIOS
Again Everest 5.50 correctly identifies all the components; memory must be run in sync with the CPU in order to obtain the best results; and NO, running the memory at 400 Mhz will not improve the results, actually you will get worse scores by running the memory at 400 MHz.

Again CPUZ legacy misses the command rate set at 1T and other timings, while Everest 5.50 displays all memory timing correctly as seen in screenshot number 4!

The second system is based on the KT266A chipset represented by the KR7A-raid. As always, everything that is not needed has been disabled in the BIOS such as parallel port, serial port ,raid controller and so on. Every memory timing has been set as low as possible and the CR is 1T. Please note that, unlike nforce2 which practically needs the PCU and memory to run at the same frequency otherwise you get a serious performance penalty, KT266A has better performance by running the memory out of sync at 266 MHz! I have tested with the memory in sync at 200 MHz and the scores are always lower, even if only by 1-2%!

Third system is represented by the SDRAM-only chipset VIA KT133A. The KT7A-raid took the 1200B with no complaints.
Being stupid I forgot to take screenshots with system info from Everest and CPUZ! Will have to pull up the KT7A-raid from storage one of these days for the screenshots!
I did not took any pictures with the AN7, KR7A-raid and KT7A-raid systems this time; anyone can check the previous pages where I put plenty of pictures!
The rest of the components remain the same as the last time:
Video card: geforce 7600gt
Sound card: Creative live revision 0100
HDD: nforce2 ultra - Raptor 150gb; KT266A - Samsung 160 GB PATA; KT133A - Seagate 120 GB PATA.
Power supply: Enermax EG701AX with a separate 5V rail that has 34A!

The drivers also remain exactly the same:
1. VIA platform driver version 4.56v
2. nforce driver version 5.10
3. Nvidia graphic driver version 93.71
4. default creative live driver installed by Windows XP.
Operating system: Windows XP SP3 with no updates.
As Thunderbird does not have SSE I was forced to use Fraps 1.9D; MSI afterburner 4.30 and Irfan view complete the software used.

The results will always be in the following order:
1. KT7A – RAID/VIA KT133A - for easier reading I selected the Windows XP default Luna theme.
2. KR7A – RAID/VIA KT266A - for easier reading I selected the Windows XP Luna theme with the XP background.
3. AN7/nforce2 ultra 400 - for easier reading I selected my favorite XP theme: Royal!

And now, for the final time, nforce2 will square off against VIA in the last socket 462 battle!
1. The first benchmark is, as usual the DirectX8 Code Creatures pro.

8. The most demanding setting is of course 1600*1200 with Sound:

Code creatures pro shows us that, despite the low FSB, SDRAM has the lowest performance out of the 3 chipsets; nforce2 is still in front with a small advantage over KT266A, not enough to score a clear cut victory.

9. Next is Aquamark 3, a Direct X 9.0 benchmark that requires both a good CPU and GPU; clearly 7600gt is strongly bottlenecked by the 1200B but that is to be expected in all the tests!
We start with 1024*768 default settings
