I have been trying to find out how to upgrade an ISA Yamaha sound card , i read al old thread but it is so old that the pictures were removed.
So i started to search on Ebay for such cards , those were sold them with and without the IDE connector

Here is a picture of the card WITH the ide connector,

The components in orange are aligned diffently
The component in yellow is removed
The component in blue should be added?

Has anyone done any other mods for such cards?

What is the motivation of adding IDE ? The port is under PnP control and will only show up if BIOS or something else explicitly enables it in some way, but only if the PnP EEPROM is also updated to have parts in it. Without updaing the EEPROM, the port will only be usable from within Win9x and only as a slow PIO port.

Yellow : RP1 is 0ohm resistors for non-IDE card with 16bit address decode.
Orange : 0 ohm goes over 4-2 and 10k goes over 3-1 in non-IDE
Blue : I am unsure what the 0 ohm is for, there are several board revisions and this area is different on them. I don't have any cards at hand to take closer looks.
