System Shock 2 was originally released in 1999 and this cult classic sci-fi horror FPS with RPG elements has become widely considered as one of the best video games of all time.
Now, from the hands of Nightdive Studios, the System Shock® 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster is available for pre-order on GOG!
With the goal of reverse engineering the original code to port SS2 to the KEX Engine, this upcoming title will let us enjoy the legendary game from almost 25 years ago, all with cinematics, textures, characters and weapon models updated, and the Co-Op Multiplayer overhauled to create a seamless experience.
Pre-order now on GOG!

Makes you wonder if the pre-order bonus for System Shock 2 Enhanced that came with System Shock Remake is still a thing.

I literally just picked up the System Shock remake from the Steam Spring Sale. Now I just need to get through FF7 Intergrade and Rebirth so I can make time to play it. Looks I've got time. 😀

The System Shock games are a couple of my favorites, and I do like much of what Nightdive has done with many classic games. Can't wait.

I missed this kickstarted completely, but stumbled upon it recently and bought a sealed copy off ebay last week!

Edit: Just noticed I had Steam keys for the SS2 Remaster in my Kickstarter backerkit even though I backed the GOG version of the System Shock 1 Remake.

Nightdive had this to say about it in the comments section of their latest KS June 25th update:

"Aside from those who pre-ordered on specific PC platforms, everyone will be receiving Steam keys. Backers can reach out to us through our support email (nds-support@atari.com) to request a key for a different PC platform (GOG, Epic Games, Humble Bundle)." [source]

So if you were a KS backer and want it on a different platform other than Steam, make sure to email them. Cheers.

Nice. Wasn't there some confusion about the backing level required for get the SS2 key? I remember the first update saying $30, then another said $50 and I saw backers throwing a fit. Looks like they decided to honor the original promise. Good for them. And me, I was a $30 backer.
