Interesting thing about the Mobile Audio chips: Yamaha had "development boards" for them, covering MA1...MA7, they pop up on auctions in Japan from time to time.

The attachment yamaha-ktb-dev-units-on-Yahoo-auction-in-Japan.png is no longer available

These MA5-KTBs are now on sale in Taiwan, they look unused:

The attachment ma5-ktb.jpg is no longer available

I guess they were for intended for MMF/SMF playback, but this is something that we can do already. Nice memorabilia though.
