I have one of these in my oldie computer: https://www.vogonswiki.com/index.php/Iomega_Z100iDE_ZIP

The page implies that iomega never made any drivers since computers could just work with the device and while Windows XP does detect it, Windows98 doesn't.

Are there really no known drivers for it? I cannot find any on Google.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

Motherboard is an Intel Desktop Board "D815EEA2 / D815EPEA2"
It has a Pentium 3 who's model I don't know.

(side question... would it be a good idea to replace the thermal whatever the CPU has? I got some thermal paste the other day so I could clean up my main computer's GPU and I planned on giving my CPU some new thermal paste, why not spoil the crappy Pentium 3 with some fancy new thermal paste? you know how Fortnite runs on these things, they can get pretty hot)

Only drivers I know of are for DOS to get it to boot and use it as your Windows 98 boot floppy.
Otherwise in Windows 98 and WinXP it just works with the built in drivers.

Is it detected in the BIOS?

It’s detected in the BIOS, yes. But Windows 98 doesn’t see it at all.

Hmm did you read the manual ? This is a quote:
"BIOS Support / CMOS Setup for the Zip Internal Drive:
BIOS support for the IDE Zip drive should be disabled in CMOS Setup as CMOS for most systems does not currently support removability.
On some systems with autodetection, it will be necessary to specifically turn off autodetection for the Zip Internal drive."
Actually Iomega did make drivers for Win9x to update the ESDI_506.PDR and VOLTRACK.VXD to support ZIP IDE, but Win98 should be already updated for that....
Manual attached in case you do not have it, is more specific to DOS, Win3x, W95, NT, etc....

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun
