I bought this laptop from this auction: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/226663122049
( its a Toshiba T2150CDT, not Toshiba T2150CDDT )

Hi! I read 2h on the web its very confusing.

Are these one will work ? ( 2 different connector exist for toshiba fdd )

https://www.ebay.ca/itm/365466915754 (PA2611U) ( I would like to buy this one, good price )

https://www.ebay.ca/itm/235840579224
( different case, same model number ??? (PA2611U)

Maybe someone is wrong ?

I know this one is the original for t2150cdt, but i want to save a few bucks and buy the cheaper compatible fdd drive:

https://www.ebay.ca/itm/335617646510
(PA2652u)

Note: In the screenshot below, this seller has a lot of info about these drives on his auctions. Still i think he is wrong in his answer

See these auctions description too:

https://www.ebay.ca/itm/112114383580

https://www.ebay.ca/itm/382426312259

Very confusing

I read somewhere that the 410CDT external floppy is compatible with the T2150CDT.

And is it possible with a T2150CDT to swap the internal cd-rom for a internal floppy drive ?

410CDT floppy drive will work on the T2150CDT. The original drive is the PA2652U but they're belt driven and pretty rare.
The important part is that it has the wider 26-pin connector - watch out for the later dark grey and silver Toshiba floppy drives because those usually have the narrow type connector from being from the Tecra 8000 & Portege 3xxx series.

The best one to find is a direct drive floppy from a Satellite 440 / 460 / 470 / 480 series since there's no belt to replace. For externals those are the larger square type ones with the pinch-eject bits where the cable goes into the body - you can find light grey ones of those which have the wide connector. Be aware that the dark grey caddies all have the narrow connector on and won't work with the T2150CDT, but they can be good for sourcing direct-drive floppy drives.

------
The CD-rom is not removable on the T2150CDT and you'd have to modify the motherboard to connect a floppy internally in place of the CD-rom drive. I have no idea if the BIOS would tolerate that as well

Just to be 100% sure, is the one on the 2nd and 3rd picture, the good one for a t2150cdt ? its seem the wider connector. ( i saw that dark grey of this case has a narrow connector. )

The First picture is another one i'm interested it seems the wider connector too. is it ok too for a T2150cdt ? Thanks a lot for answer

Yeah that one looks good - wonder why it's missing the pinch-to-eject buttons at the back?
Good news for you as well, from the facia I think that one's a direct-drive so no belts to deal with.

Hi! The drive is not working. The guy said it works on 470cdt. I tried it on 3 Toshiba Laptop and it makes a very strong noise. But dos seems to detect it but it says something like positioning error.

My father is a great electronic technician he will check it. it miss the click button to remove drive. the seller dont know the reason. I hope its compatible with 400cdt and 420cdt and tecra 500cdt
