I have enabled digital audio on the CD drive settings.

I tried CD version of The Secret of Monkey Island where music is as audio tracks on the CD.

It worked fine with the onboard audio on Asus P2B-VM. With SB0220 sounds work fine but no music from the CD. If I swap the 3,5mm audio cable to onboard audio I can hear that the CD music plays there for some reason.

Yes, cd audio cables are required! I have two drives connected to my P2's SB Live... However, I believe only the CD-in will work in DOS (I'll check again).

Depends if you are using the SB16 emulator or not... I had to "reserve" an IRQ in the BIOS for the emulated SB16. I also disabled the onboard gameport just to be sure. But all of that is unrelated to your cd audio problem...

IIRC with VxD drivers, the cable is always needed. if you get that option perhaps you installed the WDM drivers, which are said to be heavier and less compatible.

What is the VxD driver? I downloaded SB0220 drivers from Vogons drivers. Setup complained that the card is not compatible but I was able to install drivers manually.
