Hi

Apologies if this is in the wrong sub-forum. I remember asking once before what to use to free glued cables, which I'd found when I bought my retro 98 PC. Now, I'm after some recommendations for the best type of glue to use to glue cables/connectors in place. Preferably UK-based super glues or equivalent. I've now started seeing Loctite advertised since seeing it yesterday. ^^; However, I've read that it needs to be something that's not conductive, which I'm not sure if Loctite is suitable for computer cables. Essentially, I've been trying to investigate and repair a laptop I'd given my sister and the ribbon connectors are terrible for connecting up and staying connected, so I need some glue that will hold them in place securely.

Thanks

I use Permatex Silicone RTV for that. It holds well once dried, but it isn't so permanent that it ruins anything if you need to remove the connector in the future . Many OEMs use the same thing on prebuilts to keep the cables from coming unplugged during shipping.

Awesome. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll see if I can find something similar. 😀

EDIT: Yep, looks like Amazon has some and only £12. 😁
