Hey there!
I wanted to write a bit about my experience with the game and its sound, and also ask for the experience from others.
Let's start with Amiga, which I only know from youtube videos. On the Amiga the Sound probably sounds "as intended". Pretty good. Sounds are fully played and the right sounds are played.
Sound Blaster / Adlib: While the game does play decent sounding sound effects, most of them are cut off. This is especially obvious during combat. You might argue that its due to the game running to fast, but even if you slow it down to like 1 fps, the sound is still getting cut off. So the sound always sounds somewhat broken.
I just got my CM-32L and tested the game with that device (via Orpheus 2 LT). Most sound effects sound fine and are fully played. However shooting and attacking comes with a sound which rather sounds like casting a spell, imagine a "sparkle sound". So if you shoot a boot it makes "sparkle" and then the bowstring makes the right "booowww" sound. Similar with melee attacks. That said I have heared MM3 emulated on incorrect Roland Devices, and they sound like a comedy game, where also each step makes weird sounds and nothing fits. I mean the game is made for the CM-32L (LAPC-1) or at least "altered" for that.
I also came across another issue where the setting roland & Soundblaster gave no sound at all. But I saw the post by

explaining that MM3 sets the line in to zero, and yep, that's it. Note that the game also generates voice via PC speaker in the intro. It just sounds a bit better with Sound Blaster. But I haven't noticed any other point when the Soundblaster of the "Blaster & Roland" is actually being used. I tried locking this with midito, however, this only locks one stereo channel, for some reason.
What are your experiences? Maybe you also have a CM-32L or even a LAPC-1 and can confirm that the shooting and combat sounds are a bit ... weird?
Here are the sounds of the Amiga (no idea whether thats genuine hardware):
