I have a P2B-D Rev 1.06 that running two CPUs.
First i tryed installing Win2k SP4 and leave F5 so its installed with the ACPI HAL. With my SCSI controller and GPU installed anything is working fine.
But my problem is that i want to install many Expansion cards, and i dont want ACPI to control my IRQs. Soon as i plug in more boards i got problems like bluescreens.

So i want to reinstall W2k with another HAL. Question is what option should i choose to have usage of both CPUs and IRQ managment like Win98?
MPS Multi or standard ? Should i aktivate/deaktivate MPS1.4 in my bios?
Or is it not possible to use the P2B-D without acpi under win2k?

I save a SIV save file for an ASUS P2B-D that I got 2020-02-20 and it's running Windows XP Service Pack 3 with the HAL MPS 1.4 - APIC platform, W2K should also work with MPS 1.4.

AFAIK to have both CPUs you need to use either ACPI or MPS otherwise only one CPU will show up.

I would use Device Manager to change the HAL to MPS 1.4 (you don't need to re-install) and see it it does what you would like. Remember to check that MPS 1.4 is selected in the BIOS.

the question is, can i adjust with MPS 1.4 my IRQs in bios again like with win98? Or is this only possible with standard HAL.

IDK, but the MPS table has IRQ and INT entries so I suspect so. Swap the HAL and try it.

I need to reinstall. Changing to MPS Multi ends up my system dont get the adaptec drivers installed automatic again. When i trying manualy to install then result in a Bluescreen..

That IRQ sharing comes from W2k right? It has nothing todo with ACPI or MPS?
For example, my SCSI controller is IRQ10 and its shared with 2 other devices..
I just want win98 IRQ managment with multi CPU support 😀. Maybe i need to try NT4 because its based on Win9x.
