Hi,

I'm trying to revive an old Olivetti PCS-42P without system disks. FDISK and entering BIOS works fine, and HDD is found and saved into BIOS. After re-boot correct HDD is found but system refuse to boot into DOS and partition cannot find HDD when trying to reinstall DOS on a different HDD.

Have measured steady 12v and 5v from power supply and system seems to be working otherwise fine.

Maybe the EPROM has to be reconfigured from system disks? Any ideas on how to solve this issue, and can someone share the system disks?

Have you set the primary partition as Active? Have you tried an FDISK /MBR ? Can you access the partition after booting from a floppy?

If I'm reading this right, this https://www.ardent-tool.com/Olivetti/Docs/Oli … tup_Utility.pdf says the PCS42P & M4-4x share a CU set...if so, if its of any use, there's (an Italian) copy on Vogons here Olivetti M4-40/PCS-44C/Familia2 setup disk

Welcome to Vogons 😀

Do you see a message on-screen like HIT <DEL> key, if you want to run Setup or if there's an error Run SETUP UTILITY Press <F1> to RESUME
