Is it so that there are no software solutions to set DOS refresh rates for Radeon 9000 cards?
UniRefresh supports only VESA 3.0 so ATI cards vith 2.0 are no go.
I have found some discussion on this board about BIOS modding refresh rates in order to mate DVI output with modern LCD displays.
My interest however would be getting 640x480; 800x600 and 1024x768 working at 75Hz or better on CRT monitor.
Any good resources/links I could read up about tools and techniques about that? I have cheap 9600 card for experiments...

Last time I stumbled over that topic, I heard mentions that BIOS editing is the way to go. The Tool "RadEdit" had the option to change those, haven't tested it personally though. Perhaps worth a look.

For whenever you play around with the VBIOS, have a PCI card ready so you can flash it even if you screwed something up.

Success!! I was today brave enough to mod my Asus Radeon a9600XT/TD card Wanted to increase factory default 60Hz refresh rates for 640x, 800x and 1024x resolutions in DOS.
Dumping rom with atiflash v315 looked safe since it was released after card release. However latest Radedit v1.1d was released in 2002 so before 9600XT release date. Well it passed initial tests. Seems to be working fine.

Thanks tehsiggi for pointing me towards right tools.
