The adaptor converts FC-PGA2 to FC-PGA type interface. Compatible motherboards for use with the converted CPUs must natively support Coppermine and a Vcore of 1.45V or 1.5V. In addition, Intel 815 chipset boards. Boards with VIA (Apollo) chipsets 'may or may not' be an option for use with converted CPUs, not sure at this time? BIOS updates may also be required. (see attached image)
My goal is to build an mATX setup. I realize it would save headache using a nominally smaller/slower CPU in the first place, but I just want to make life difficult. Without compatibly and configuration problems to solve, life is not worth living.
As I understand, FC-PGA CPUs are Celeron Coppermine with slower FSB and smaller cache, 100/256 vs 133/512?
Just throwing this out there too:
As I understand, I've read 512mb ram is the limit that both MS-DOS 6.22 and Win98se prefer?
