A while ago I discovered that, on Ali Express, they sell repurposed mobile chips into AI/crypto desktop cards.
One of the better deals I came across is a card based on the 3080 Ti Mobile with 16GB of RAM. This card is based on the short lived GA-103 chip. It has 7680 shader processors, so it's in between the desktop GeForce 3070 and the 3080.
The card has 16GB of GDDR6 (so, it may work better with modern games than 8GB 40xx and 50xx cards) clocked at 2GHz, for a total of 512GB/s of bandwidth. The TDP of the card is only 115W but it's an excellent undervolter. At 725mV it's stable at 1.5Ghz and at 750mV it can go beyond 1.6GHz. I'm still using 537.58 drivers with DLSS 3.8.10 modded in thanks to this script: https://gist.github.com/emoose/11271bbb3b42fb … b0e1c83eef47c05
It's a good card to play modern games at 1080/1440 and, considering its modest TDP, it's also well suited to build low noise HTPCs.
Unfortunately, it seems their supply on AliExpress has dried up. Some of them still pop up on eBay from time to time at around 400-450$.
