I can also answer the question of whether the FLP01 can hold a monitor or not. It's sturdy enough.

Mmm mmm good. Dang, that's fine!

Seems like Silverstone will add another retro look case to its lineup:

The bottom PSU location and shroud (maby its removable?) limits its retro uses.
But atleast it seems like it has 3 full 5.25" slots.

I like the look of the case, but the 2-digit LED should be replaced with one showing the current CPU speed.

I've found the biggest limitation on post-2015 (or so cases), at least for sticking a VLB-sized Baby AT motherboard in there, is that there tends to be a "lip" around the motherboard tray, putting a limit on width.
On older cases without that, you could get away with a board a little wider than the designers expected.
What are you thinking the PSU shroud blocks? And you can always use an extension on the motherboard power cable, though it's ugly.

If the FLP01 really is selling better than they expected, I wonder if this leads to a revival of beige peripherals to go with it

I should order one to make into a modern sleeper system.

(The practical joke would be to put an LS120 in a bay adapter on this thing.)

Does the 2-digit 7-segment display need to be replaced, or can't a controller be made for it that makes it show the CPU speed? Of course, it would only be good for up to 99MHz, but if the dots/points were used, it could show GHz instead, such as "1.4" for my Pentium III Tualatin, "2.2" for my Athlon 64 (single-core) and "3.4" for my Pentium D.

Unless they're obscenely expensive, I'll get these for all my ATX systems, including my main Ryzen system.

Is it modern? Is it a K6-2? WHO KNOWS??? Lucky dip! 😁

My understanding watching a video of that case is that the 2 digits are programmed to show fan PWM speed. The turbo button on the front toggles the fans to 100% on for extra cooling.

Whooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaohmygosh!
THIS IS AWESOMEFANTASTIK!!!!!!
It is happening guys!!!I can't believe it!!!!
So, when I called SilverStone several months ago, they recommended that we spread the rumor, we push with the national stores, so that they will be convinced to order the case.

I had Retrocomputer magazine in Italy cover the topic, telling readers to call the stores... here's the article:

I recommended they make other traditional retro cases, they said it all depends on how the sales of FLP01 go.
They must go well! A few days ago, a store in Germany got restocked. And here in Italy too! Drako.it got it. I ordered it 2 days ago! But I'd have preferred this tower one 🤣!

I'll call them tonight and ask how it's going and what their further plans are, if any.

They said therefore to him: Who are you?
Jesus said to them: The beginning, who also speak unto you
