Take the Asus P3B-F - some have it, some don't. It depends on the revision. Up to revision 1.03, it can't supply less than 1.8V, from rev 1.04 it can go down to 1.3V

Just saw this and wanted to point out that, while it's probably true that some have it & some don't, it's not as clear-cut as saying "rev 1.04 supports 1.3V while rev 1.03 doesn't." For instance, I have two Asus P3B-F rev 1.03 boards that do support Coppermine CPUs / 1.3V out of the box, since they both come with the HIP6020ACB VRM controller.
Also, looking on TheRetroWeb, that particular 1.03 board (seen in the photos) comes with a US 3007CW controller, which also supports voltages down to 1.3V (and, in fact, Coppermine is listed on the "CPU family support" tab).

Ah, OK. So, based on that FAQ, it seems that all P3B-F boards with a revision >= 1.03 should support Coppermines with no exception. Makes sense, since I've never encountered one that doesn't (that said, I've only tested three or four rev 1.03 boards myself, so it's not exactly a large sample size).

Regardless, even the boards that don't support Coppermines out of the box, can easily be modded to handle them by replacing that buck controller IC (if you have soldering experience, it's a 10 minute job, and you can still find these ICs for sale, on eBay & co).

Thanks. So you did run into any other particular problems when setting the system up. Did you run into any compability issues with your sound cards or was everything a rather easy path. the reason why i am asking is cause certain via chipsets have the reputation to be rather picky with certain sound cards?

is also quite interesting since the p3b-f from Asus is not out the question too. It is great know what can be done to improve the board via modding. The fastest cpu without modding for the asus board would be something like this

I am more inclined towards a board with intel 815e because it is sighly more modern but classic intel 440bx system is something i still see a viable option.
