Found an ALD PCI5400 board without cache and bios chips, tried with bios from retroweb and although it does not have cache chips on it it shows "writeback cache on" when you enable external cache from bios.

Later on, I installed a set of cache chips that I know good. But they are not detected by hwinfo or cachecheck. They are warm, definitely in circuit but does not seem to work.

Any bios alternative anybody knows? What could be the reason for this?
