Just wondering what this IC is on the 4200 Ti cards... looks a bit like the AGP-PCIE bridge chips you get on later AGP cards... One of my cards has it (MSI) another does not (Xelo)

Chips in those locations are normally for TV-Out or DVI on most cards. There isn't enough visible in those pictures for me to say for sure which one it is in your case, but it is one of the two.

Also, your red card has swollen caps. 🙁

EDIT: Actually, if I read the markings correctly it is this chip:

Since it is an analog to digital chip, I'm guessing it is for video INPUT, which not all cards had. I'm guessing the TV-Out port on that card has lots of pins and would have been used with a breakout cable for VIVO (video in, video out).

These chips are for TV-IN functionality.

I must be some kind of standard: the anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century.

It's ok, it's a image from TRW. Not my card to recap!
