I have an X-Fi with just 3 jacks for analog sound output. It can do 7.1, but I don't have a breakout cable for it. I have currently made due with some 4 pole breakouts that I then wired up in various ways to make all the channel work. The issue is that the 4 pole plugs I have are all the wrong size, so I have to carefully place each one in, but not all the way in. It's very fiddly and the slightest move will make a sounds end up in the wrong place or a speaker not to work at all.

So, has anyone else messed with this and is there a better solution or recommended 4 pole jack that might work better with this?

Basically, I'm missing cables like the ones shown here: https://documentation.help/Creative-X-FI-TSD- … g_speakers.html

Thanks!

I found an option on the creative website here (Expand the section using the button "GUIDE TO 7.1 SETUP ON AUDIGY RX")

https://au.creative.com/p/sound-blaster/sound … aster-audigy-rx

It suggests using 4 pole AV cables for two of the ports, you can then combine them in any way you want from the RCA plugs

Yeah, I saw that after I posted, but it is also exactly what I am currently doing, though I worked it out via trial and error. The issue is that length of the plugs I have / used don't fit well into the card. I'll just have to try some other options and see what comes of it. *shrug*
