I'm still running into issues with the floppy drives on my 386SX, but I'm hoping to overcome the 500MB hard drive limit using OnTrack. My plan is to set up the drive on a 486 machine with OnTrack installed, since booting from its disk is required for proper initialization.
Once everything is configured, can I transfer the hard drive back to the 386SX and expect it to work without problems? I'm aiming to use either a 1GB or 4GB drive, formatted with FAT16.
