It was only when I reassembled this did I really think of the monstrosity I have made.

This is a slotket, then with a pin adapter for a Tualatin, then heatsink, then Noctua 60mm fan.

It actually works perfectly, and the fan is almost silent which is a bonus.

However...

I am slightly concerned about the horizontal stress on the slotket. It seems stable and working, and there is no signs of sag etc.

I'm just wondering, would you use it like this? I've considered a lower profile heatsink, but I'd like to avoid spending more if possible.

The RAM slot isn't blocked, FWIW, even if the angle makes it look that way.

"Yo dawg, I put a socket on your slotket so you can compute while you compute!"

I don't think I'd be too worried about it as long as the slotket doesn't flop around/everything is tight. If you want to relieve some stress maybe mount the fan to the case/drive bay instead/and or use a bigger fan if that would make it further away
