SGM v2.01 seems to be used by more people now than before. thanks to Toby Fox.

But please use the latest SGM-Pro instead of older version, it sounds much better than v2.01.
Honestly, some of the issues with SGM v2.01 are making me a little embarrassed now. I'm even a little hesitant to listen to it...

Hello! Just registered to give a huge thanks for making this soundfont. It sounds great with nearly anything I throw at it! Will 4.0 be the last update of this soundfont? One issue I have is that the "Organ 3" preset has some scale tuning issues in the mid-range of keys, specifically keys 50-58. I hear this in both Falcosoft MIDI player (BASSMIDI) and FluidSynth. I also feel like "Warm Pad" is a little quiet on the lower end compared to other soundfonts and original Roland hardware.

Sorry it will be fixed in the next version (v5.0)
Thanks for the report.

I've been using SGM v2.01 with TiMidity++ for a long time, and I truly appreciate your excellent work—thank you.
Recently, I discovered SGM-Pro v4.0, downloaded it, and gave it a try. While exploring the SF2 files, I noticed the embedded copyright notice:

SGM v2.01: "David Shan 2002–2007"
SGM-Pro v4.0: "2025 David Shan / E-mu / Roland / Yamaha"

I 'm curious—did you obtain licenses from E-mu, Roland, and Yamaha for the content included in SGM-Pro v4.0?

No, the SGM-Pro v4.0 sounds were recorded from some Roland & Yamaha sound modules from the 1990s, and also include some EMU Soundfonts from the 1990s.
As for SGM-v2.01, it includes some modern (2000~) copyrighted sounds, such as sounds from Spectrasonics and Synthogy's CD/DVD sound libraries . Not a lot, maybe 6-7 sounds, I can't remember exactly.

If you're very worried about copyright, the SGM-Pro might be less of a problem.. Creative/EMU doesn't care about Soundfonts anymore, and it sounds better and is smaller.
