Hello vogons,

recently i found a couple of Intel Xeon 1000/256/133 Cascades core 5/12V

The attachment xeon01.jpg is no longer available

i did the swap of core from Xeon board to Coppermine interposer. it should work but it did not.
cpu is heating pretty well, reacting to fsb freq. but zero activity on flash and no post codes ( -- -- ).

The attachment xeon02.jpg is no longer available

anyone is aware of any difference between coppermine and cascades ? what did i miss there

Wow, honestly, I had no idea that this was a thing that people did.

I will be watching this thread though. I hope you get it working!

Now for some blitting from the back buffer.

What makes you think they share common pinouts?
Let's see the ballout sheets you compared

I built:
Convert old ASUS ASC boardviews to KICAD PCB!
Re: A comprehensive guide to install and play MechWarrior 2 on new versions on Windows.
Dos+Windows 3.11+tcp+vbe_svga auto-install iso template
Script to backup Win9x\ME drivers from a working install
Re: The thing no one asked for: KICAD 440bx reference schematic

there is no I could not find the ballout sheets for Cascades

See Table 42. Signal Listing in Order by Pin Number

You should also specify which motherboard you have and the BIOS version, ideally include a link to it.

I suppose it's possibly just a microcode issue and not hardware.

Probably best to compare the microcode of the current bios with a bios from a board which definitely supports it.

this is slot 2 pinout, not a ballout of the chip itself

ballout looks like this (mobile pentium III)
