So, I bought 2 Voodoo 2 12 meg, one reference design, and one (very) slightly different, but unknown.
Both register and gets driver in Windows 98se. One doesn't show up in Mojo - that's gonna be a separate thread some time.
The other (not reference design) showed only 1MiB on TMU0, so with a bit of schematic reading, measuring, I found the corner of the TMU with loose pins and reflowed. Seemingly success, as all memory showed up. UT99 runs fine in Glide, as does Need For Speed 2 SE except, it wasn't aware of the Voodoo2 at install time, so I had to manually copy the Voodoo executable to the hard drive, and dashboard doesn't show. I upgraded from an 8 to a 12 meg back in the day specifically for that.
After running NFS2SEA, though, System info from the Voodoo tab of the display properties only show 8meg (showed 12 before running NFS). And Mojo reports 0xdead as power state and bogus number of TMUs. I can however still run NFS in Glide mode with splash screen and all, but still no dashboard.
What would be next step? More reflow or is there another way of diagnosing with Mojo, since Witchery is not yet released?
Any help is welcome π
[edit] - didn't actually show 12 megs in the voodoo tab on display properties, it seems
If it's dual it's kind of cool ... π
